how i whooped acne in the butt in one month

I never had acne until early 20s. Was clear as a pre-teen, was pristine as a young adult but then WOMP, turn 21 and I'm rockin' lil friends on my face. My acne lasted about a year plus, and then I overthrew those bastards in just a short month. Here's how...

get rid of acne, fast.

1. Cut the makeup

Sorry babies. There's no other way to say it. This is the number one thing that cleared my skin up. My moms would bug me to let my face breathe but it was so cyclical at that point that there was no other solution than to just ditch the foundation. Cover it naturally with a tan which should buy you some time. Wear eye makeup and/or brows to distract from the spots, but noooooo foundation, powder, concealer, bronzer, blush. Zip. Nothing.

2. Sunday Riley Good Genes

This stuff is disgustingly expen$ive. It's hard to know which results I can attribute to which habits and products but I'm pretty sure it prevented breakouts and helped clear the purple acne scaring. It made my skin retain moisture, made it more even and plumed fine lines around my mouth and forehead. Wouldn't have bought it if I wasn't desperate lol. If this is not in the budget play with a skincare routine including Vitamin E, AHAs, lactic acids, coconut oil, etc. Buy it here.

Cons

  • $135 CAD for 1 fl.oz
  • Fragranced?? (bad for the skin!!)
  • Did I mention it costs an arm
    and a leg?
  • Makes you sun sensitive

Pros

  • It works. Get calmer, smoother, more even skin
  • Prevents breakouts
  • Helps scarring
  • For most skin types
  • Cruelty free
  • Long-term effects, don't
    need to keep buying it

3. Apple cider vinegar

This is by no means sexy. It's not a glamorous million dollar product that will solve your life problems. It's better. It's natural and it's cheap. Since I wasn't using makeup, I used ONLY this to wash my face. Wanting to feel a little more fancy, I put it in a mirrored soap dispenser which made it easier to dispense anyways. You'll notice light burning (which I actually find refreshing), when you first introduce this into your routine. Don't worry, that's just the AHAs exfoliating the skin. You can leave it on as a toner, but I usually would wash it down the drain. Maybe do that, and give your significant other a break, cuz it stinks.

4. Sleep, eat, drink, exercise

Ewwww, how annoying am I? If acne has been a long-time problem, it's your body trying to tell you something. Your body surfaces pains, weight-gain, and acne alike as a way of speaking to you. At the time of my acne issue, I was gaining weight for the first time in my life. I was eating not so good. So my both my gut and my skin was screaming HELP! And so I listened, and made changes and voilà
